Tulsa police on the lookout for man accused of killing girl over custody dispute

TULSA, Okla — The Tulsa Police Department is looking for a man accused of killing a woman over the custody of a child.

A warrant is issued for Charles Maurice Colbert in the shooting death of 38-year-old Ashley Sneed.

Tulsa police officers responded to a call at a home near 97th and Admiral Place for reports of the shooting around 12:30 pm on Saturday. Investigators said a man pulled a gun and shot a woman while they fought over custody of their one-year-old child.

Police say Sneed had tried to serve Colbert papers for custody before he shot her and left. She died at the hospital.

The Tulsa County District Attorney’s Office charged Colbert with First-Degree Murder, and police are actively looking for him.

Anyone with any information about where he is asked to call 911 immediately.
