VIDEO: Chip Gaines cuts hair for St. Jude Kids’s Hospital

Gaines said he will donate his hair to children with hair loss, where they will use his hair to make a wig for a child undergoing cancer treatment.

WACO, Texas – The above video was released on August 25th. The video of Chip Gaines cutting his hair is below.

Magnolia’s Chip Gaines went through his own “fixer upper” this week after chopping off all of his luscious locks to aid kids with cancer treatment.

On Friday, Gaines posted a video of his transformation on his social media accounts, stating that he was raising money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The video shows him walking to Monument Barber Co. in Waco with former St. Jude patient, 16-year-old Bailey, whom he first met in 2017. At the time, Bailey was undergoing cancer treatment and Gaines shaved his entire head for a similar fundraiser and raised $ 230,000 for the research hospital.

This time around, Gaines is hoping to raise $ 425,000 by the end of August 27.

“The amazing thing about St. Jude is that most of their funding comes from donors. Families are never billed from St. Jude for treatment, travel, accommodation, or food – because a family should only care about helping their child with life. And with your help, I want it to stay that way, “he wrote on his donation page.

In the video, his wife and business partner Joanna Gaines did the honors by cutting off the first round of locks. The barber then shaved the rest of his head and cleaned it with a razor.

Gaines said he will donate his hair to Children With Hair Loss, where they will use his hair to make a wig for a child undergoing cancer treatment.

“You did it for a good cause,” says Joanna Gaines to Chip Gaines. “It’s so special.”
