VICKSBURG, miss. (WJTV) – A woman is being detained in Warren County Jail without bonds after allegedly assaulting and assaulting her three children, according to the Vicksburg Post.
Shana Smith, 36, is accused of stabbing her children, all under the age of seven, with a knife on Wednesday night. Warren County MPs said the incident happened in a 1900 house on the Heather Place block.
According to Sheriff Martin Pace, one of the children ran to seek help from a relative nearby. When the MPs arrived, the children with wounds were taken to the Merit Health River region and later released. A child suffered a neck cut and is expected to recover.
Smith is currently being detained until she appears before the District Court Judge Marcie Southerland.
This is an ongoing investigation.
