Youngster Custody Advocate Program seeks volunteers to help youngsters caught in center of custody disputes

Empowered Pathways is seeking volunteer attorneys for their Child Custody Advocate Program (CCAP). Volunteer candidates receive 30 hours of training and agree to background checks. A virtual orientation and training will take place on June 11th and 12th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The CCAP program serves young people who are at the center of controversial custody disputes. Volunteer advocates work as a team with agency staff to gather information about the child’s environment, resources, and other information that is critical to determining custody.

An unbiased report is then presented to the family court to assist them in making decisions in the best interests of the United States
Children.

“CCAP advocates are highly qualified and work as a team with experienced employees. This is an opportunity to add experience to your résumé while making a positive impact on a child’s life, ”said Lu Blanchard, Restorative Justice Coordinator for Empowered Pathways. “The training is the first step in the training and certification process.”
