Youngster killer Chris Watts an ‘outcast’ in protecting custody so he is ‘not attacked’

A man who killed his pregnant wife and their two daughters is being avoided in prison and placed in protective custody to prevent attack.

Chris Watts celebrates his 36th birthday behind bars at the Dodge Correctional Institution with Maximum Security in Waupan, Wisconsin, USA today after slaughtering his family.

A source who speaks to Watts regularly told People magazine in the US that he could go days without a conversation with a soul as inmates and guards try to evade him.

The source said, “Nobody wants anything to do with him. He’s on the lowest social level in the entire prison.

“He’s in protective custody because if he’s around other inmates he’d be in real danger.

“He’s an outcast, even among criminals.”

Watts committed the crimes after meeting 32-year-old Nichol Kessinger with whom he was about to start a new life.

It is believed that according to Watts’ beliefs, Ms. Kessinger changed her name and nothing has been heard since.

The source added that Watts, who has a few family photos in his cell and a Bible, spends his days writing pen pals.

There are many women who started writing to him after he went to prison. He reads for hours and they reply to their letters.

The source added, “He’s a young man, only 36 years old, so he could live like that for the next 50 years.

The case of the Watts family was the subject of a Netflix series released last year, American Murder: The Family Next Door.
