Drake praised his son Adonis on his new album Certified Lover Boy.

The 34-year-old father of one referred to his child, who will turn four in October, in some of the 21 tracks on his sixth studio album, which was released early Friday morning.

Though he doesn’t mention Adonis by name, Drake does comment on his child and mother, former adult film star Sophie Brussaux.

The album’s first song, “Champagne Poetry”, in which he samples “Michelle” by the Beatles, sums up his past years, including recent world events and his parenting relationship with Brussaux since Adonis’ birth in October 2017.

“I’ve been hot since the birth of my son,” he begins the first verse after the intro. Later, in his last verse, he briefly mentions the struggles he and Brussaux went through and says, “Co-Parent of the Year, we found a relationship.”

The track appears to be yet another reaction to naysayers and Pusha T, who previously accused Drake of hiding his child in the 2018 diss track “The Story of Adidon”.

In “F — ing Fans,” Drake’s 20th track on Certified Lover Boy, he briefly refers to how he learned to be a father for the first time.

“Then I had a child, even though I never planned it. I can’t imagine when your girls gave you this message,” he raps about being in a relationship when the news about his baby was released.

“Papi’s Home,” Drake’s second track from the album, also includes a reference to Adonis, while Drake raps, “I left my only son,” adding, “See, your mother raised a fine young man. Daddy’s home. And I know that I’ve missed so much of your life. “

In May 2017, Brussaux told TMZ that she was three months pregnant with Drake’s child and hired two major lawyers in New York City to initiate the child’s proof of paternity and child support process.

Months before October 11, 2018, the birth of his son, Drake confirmed impending fatherhood in his song “March 14” on his Scorpion album, which was released in June.

“Yesterday morning was crazy / I had to put up with the fact that it is not a maybe / That s — is set in stone, sealed and signed / She is not my lover like ‘Billie Jean’, but the child is mine, “Drake opens the track.

“We only met twice, twice / and both times were nothing like the new times / now it’s tough times, I’m out here on the front lines / just trying to make sure I see him sometimes,” he continues .

“October baby, for the sake of irony, of course / I got those 11 tattooed for someone, now it’s yours,” he says of his son’s date of birth.

In another song from 2018, “Emotionless,” Drake claims, “I didn’t hide my child from the world / I hid the world from my child.”

Since then, Drake has proudly accepted his fatherly duties, sharing photos and tributes of Adonis on social media. When he was named Artist of the Decade at the Billboard Music Awards in May 2021, Drake was joined by his son in a surprise appearance on stage.

At the live event, Adonis burst into ravishing tears while his father finished his speech.

“I want to dedicate this award to you,” said Drake, laughing, after lifting his son up and holding him in his arms.
