Man caught pulling a child off the street in New York City
A surveillance video shows the 5-year-old walking in front of his mother and siblings in Queens on Thursday evening (July 15). A man gets out of a car, runs up to the child, yanks him off the sidewalk and sets him down in the back seat of a parked car. The child’s mother pulls her son through the passenger window of the car. The child was not injured. The mother, identified by local media as 45-year-old Dolores Diaz, said she didn’t know why anyone would try to take her child and said her neighborhood was safe. Police arrested James McGonagle, 24, late on Friday. He was charged with attempted kidnapping and other charges. Police said they were looking for a second suspect.
